Daniel W. Crowe

Dan Crowe joined the firm in 2006. Dan's practice emphasizes general business and real property matters.

Dan graduated from the University of Puget Sound and the Seattle University School of Law. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association.

Brent F. Dille

Brent Dille joined the firm in 2000. Brent's practice emphasizes trust and estate planning, estate administration, real estate, and business planning. He has substantial experience in the design and implementation of family weath transfers, charitable gifting, and asset protection strategies. Brent is a member of the South Puget Sound Estate Planning Council.

Brent graduated from the University of Washington and the Seattle University School of Law. He is a member of the Washington State and Thurston County Bar Associations. Brent is a frequent lecturer at local and regional estate planning, real estate, and business planning seminars.

Matthew B. Edwards

Matthew Edwards joined Owens Davies in 1992. Matt graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Law in 1988, where he served as law review editor. After a year as a clerk for Washington Supreme Court Chief Justice Keith Callow, Matt was an associate with a large Seattle law firm before settling with his family in Olympia .

Matt holds Bachelor of Art degrees in History and Latin from the University of Washington , and a Master of Arts degree in Medieval Canon Law from Columbia University . Matt is also a chess master and is a past Washington State Chess Champion.

Matt has represented both insurers and plaintiffs in insurance coverage matters. He also represents clients in commercial, real property, land use, trust and estate as well as bankruptcy litigation. As an experienced appellate lawyer, Matt has prevailed in a number of published cases.

Michael W. Mayberry

Mike Mayberry has been a litigator and trial attorney with Owens Davies since 1987. He joined the firm after three years of legal practice in Longview , Washington . Mike is experienced in personal injury/wrongful death, insurance, construction, employment and environmental law, and has been involved in complex multi-year litigation.

Mike has successfully represented clients in cases involving millions of dollars in dispute in personal injury, wrongful death, environmental, construction defect and insurance cases.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude in Political Science from Washington State University in 1980 and received his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1983.

Richard G. Phillips, Jr.

Richard 'Mick' Phillips has been an attorney since 1973 and with Owens Davies since 1986. Mick received his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University , holds a law degree from Willamette University and a Masters Degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University . He served as a law clerk for Washington Supreme Court Justice Frank Hale before entering private practice.

Mick practices in the areas of land use, business, and real estate transactions. He has been a speaker on land use matters for the Planning Association of Washington and the Washington State Association of Municipal Attorneys.

Mick is active in the community, and has served on various boards, including The Community Foundation and Washington Center for the Performing Arts.

Kirk M. Veis

Kirk Veis joined Owens Davies in 1990 after practicing for nearly seven years at a large Seattle Law firm . Kirk received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree , summa cum laude, from Pacific Lutheran University in 1980, and his law degree from the Stanford Law School in 1983, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif.

Kirk's practice centers on business law, real estate, and commercial transactions. He represents clients in the formation of businesses and the creation of special ownership and control arrangements; the purchase and sale of businesses; financing; the purchase, sale and lease of improved and unimproved commercial and residential real estate; like-kind exchanges and other commercial matters.

A native of Scobey , Montana , Kirk is one of the founders and a director of Washington Business Bank, and has served on the board of the Olympia Symphony Orchestra and the Hands on Children's Museum.
